Securing the future of aviation through industry-wide collaboration

The Airports AI Alliance (AAA) assists the aviation industry to deploy artificial intelligence effectively and responsibly by bringing together C-suite business leaders who are committed to creating a roadmap for their organisation.

To facilitate the adoption of AI by the aviation industry, the Alliance provides members with access to expertise from the private sector through workshops, research, tools and playbooks.

Corporate members work collaboratively alongside the airport executives responsible for business strategy, operations and technology.

Join the Airports AI Alliance and collaborate with global airport leaders to drive innovation and excellence in the field of artificial intelligence within the aviation industry.

How the Alliance works

Governance

The Alliance operates through an Executive Committee and Working Groups which bring together airports and industry.

The Executive Committee is responsible for setting the overall objectives and strategy for the Airports AI Alliance.

The Working Groups serve as knowledge-sharing hubs that support the different C-suite and senior leadership from airports.

The Secretariat, which is hosted by the Cities Today Institute, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Alliance.

Working Groups

The Airports AI Alliance has Working Groups focused on strategy & change management; technology; and operations & passenger experience.

Airport executives work together in individual Working Groups through virtual and in-person sessions focused on the application of AI in different airport functions. But to support the integrated planning and adoption of artificial intelligence at management level, the Alliance provides reports and summaries drawn from all Working Groups supported by use cases and best practices for members.

In addition, representatives from the same airport join plenary sessions during the annual Airports AI Alliance Summit.

What airports say about our leadership forums

“One of the best engaged events with a defined core set of professionals. Always an enjoyable experience.

Maurice Jenkins, Chief Innovation Officer
Miami International Airport

Excellent. Great balance of presentations and open discussion and dialogue. I appreciate the fact that group size allows for transparent ideas and perspectives to be shared.

Frank Scremin, VP of Global Operational Services
Vantage Airports Group

“Great setting to exchange ideas and experiences with a wide cross section of global airports of various sizes and topical vendors. Tons of value in understanding the perspective from multiple viewpoints.

Pierre Lanthier, Director IT Strategy & Innovation
Greater Toronto Airports Authority

“Excellent forum with top industry leaders. The ability to connect with everyone at such a small scale was absolutely invaluable and much appreciated.

Martha Edge, Innovation and Experience Director
Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Membership

Membership is based on different tiers dependent on company size. All tiers include access to the Alliance Summit and Alliance virtual sessions.

AI Alliance Summit

All members will have access to the Airports AI Alliance Summit which will take place on March 18-20 2025 in Washington DC. This is exclusively for members and no delegate places are available for purchase.

The Summit has dedicated Working Groups for strategy, technology and operations. There are roundtable sessions for each Working Group during the event that will run in parallel. Platinum members will present at a roundtable session and will participate in all the discussions with a seat at the table for each of the Working Group sessions.

In addition, there are plenary sessions that bring together all C-suite and Summit attendees. Executive members will give a keynote speech at a plenary session followed by a panel discussion on a topic of their choice.

AI Alliance virtual sessions

There are virtual sessions throughout the membership year across the Alliance’s different Working Groups. The frequency is as follows:

  • Business Strategy (CFOs/COOs/Comms/GCs): 6 per year
  • Operations (CInOs): 6 per year
  • Technology (IT and Data Managers): 6 per year

Platinum Membership

There will be a maximum of 20 Platinum members. This creates an agile and effective set of working groups that can ensure fulfilment of the objectives and delivery of the outputs of the Alliance.
